Introducing Fire & Rainbow, the South Australian Opal, Gemstone & Mineral Show, coming to the South Australian Museum in June 2027.

For one extraordinary week, opal buyers, exhibitors, collectors, makers, regional voices and the public will come together around South Australian opal, the Far North and our state’s remarkable mineral story.

The week will include:

Over the years we’ve had numerous requests for Opal carvings. So while I’ve taken some time off this July, Dad got curious and carved his first shell! He used some rough that was set aside because he had no idea what to use it for, so I think this was just the absolute perfect outcome. What do you think of his first shell? I love how artistic he is!
