Although she uses some precious metals and stones, such as pearls, she uses them as a vessel to accompany unconventi

onal materials such as acrylic plastics. Contrasting precious with non-precious materials allows the viewer to question what precious really means – in jewelry and most importantly in life. While growing up in Slovakia, Denisa has always shown interest in arts and craft, anything that would keep her hands occupied. She was strongly motivated and shaped by her parents. Denisa watched her father work with his hands, transforming ordinary things like branches and found objects into works of art. Her attention to detail and process was influenced by her mother, a Pharmacist. Since being a small child, she was mesmerized by her mom mixing chemicals, measuring, and packaging capsules. Her parents saw and nourished Piatti’s growing interest in art at a young age. Her father, who was never permitted to attend art school, encouraged her to choose her own path and commit to it 100%. At age 16, after a rigorous two-day entrance examination, she was only 1 of 7 students accepted into a prestigious art school to study the craft of jewellery making. Piatti completed 8 years of study in jewelry making in Slovakia and Scotland.

Today, I am writing to you on a more personal note than usual. I have been somewhat quiet here and on my social media accounts over the course of this year and the past year. Over a year ago, my family and I decided to relocate to Europe after a wonderful twelve years in our beloved Washington, DC.

I am deeply grateful that over the years, I have cultivated a delightful community of art and jewelry lovers not only in the U.S. but also globally. I was determined to keep my U.S. business alive, but it has become increasingly clear that this is no longer possible. So, with a heavy heart, I have closed the Denisa Piatti Jewellery branch in DC.
You can still view and order my pieces via my website, but please keep in mind the recent changes in shipping and customs charges.

On a happier note, I am embarking on a new chapter of my business and creative work in Vienna, Austria! There are more exciting developments on the horizon, as wonderful things are brewing in the near future.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being with me on this journey, for your support, and for all your positive energy. I could not have done it without you!

Clear hoops, in small and large. The transparent and colorless acrylic presents it challenges that are not there when I work with vivid colors. So I play with drilling small holes to add texture and volume.
