Thank you Wrists for capturing the Kurono Calendrier ‘Type I’ and its reflection beautifully.

Designed by Hajime Asaoka for the gentleman adventurer, the Calendrier ‘Type I’ pairs a high-polish coin-edged bezel with a khaki dial and bold blackletter numerals, recalling the regimental spirit of the Art Deco era. Its forged steel case is mirror-finished to reflect the world around it, and it was made to be worn and lived in. As Hajime Asaoka puts it, the marks a watch gathers over time become “a written record of his journey and adventures through life.”

The Kurono Tokyo GTG in New York is on, and we’ve added a new date: Friday, November 13!

With our first evening now fully booked, we’re opening Friday so more of you can join us. We’ll be in Manhattan from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

It will be a casual, relaxed evening. Once confirmed, feel free to arrive between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM, grab a drink, and say hello to Hajime Asaoka and the Kurono Tokyo team (English-speaking staff will be on hand). We’ll also bring a selection of our watches for you to see up close and try on.

Entry is by RSVP confirmations only, and spaces are limited. Please register at bit.ly/NYC13th or via the link in our bio, and venue details will be shared in your confirmation email. If you’re already confirmed for our first evening, we look forward to seeing you there!

We would like to give critical guidance for Kurono Malachite. Dial yields have dropped from 20% to less than 15%. While the majority of deliveries are expected to complete in the next couple of weeks, 12-13% of orders can only be completed by the last week of October with a smattering into November. This will affect some wave two customers, in line with our guidance during checkout.

Malachite was a passion project - we knew it was hard to work with, but we put it as an Anniversary watch so that more can enjoy the rarity and beauty of the dial. But we cannot compromise on quality and on sensei’s inspections even if it costs us significantly both in terms of our margins, and in customer satisfaction. It is his hanko on the dial after all.

As such we have been stricter than usual with regard to zero-tolerance cancellations on resellers, grey dealers and flippers, as well as any instances of cyber-bullying or unfair pressure just so to get ahead of the line in the delivery queue. Our team is small and we are trying our very best to get the remaining watches on valid customers’ wrists.

We seek your understanding and forgiveness if we have been deemed unduly harsh towards anyone during this process. But we will err on the side of caution especially so when this reseller thing is getting out of hand.

The Chronograph I is Kurono’s first chronograph, a 38mm watch with a automatic winding movement, column wheel and vertical clutch. Polished steel studs mark the hours, followed by alternating gray or black and silver rings, with an integrated pulsometer and tachymeter around the perimeter. The subdials at 3 and 9 are finished in a concentric guilloché pattern, and the elapsed-time subhand at 9 takes the shape of a kyudo (Japanese archery) arrow. The box sapphire crystal enhances the play of light across the dial. It was nominated in the Chronograph category at the 2020 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).

The 2026 Calendrier Small Batch Release (SBR) was produced in a very small quantity. Born from a creative whim of Hajime Asaoka, it was an off-calendar release that made efficient use of a small number of unallocated movements and components available to us.

As with every Kurono release, our team is currently conducting our usual post-sale review of all orders. Any invalid, duplicate, or errant purchases that do not meet our purchase terms will be identified and removed accordingly.

This process takes time, as each order is carefully reviewed to ensure that we uphold the standards and fairness we have always maintained for our collectors. We kindly ask for your patience while our team completes this process over the coming days.

We would like to provide some guidance for the upcoming sale of the 2026 Calendrier Small Batch Release (SBR).

Worldwide online ordering will take place on Thursday, 24 September 2026 at 11:00 PM JST on www.kuronotokyo.com.

We accept payments via VISA, MasterCard, American Express, UnionPay, Apple Pay (Safari browser required), Google Pay, AliPay and WeChat Pay. Anecdotally, Apple Pay and Google Pay have shown the fastest transaction speeds.

The 2026 Calendrier SBR is a small-batch release, crafted in lower-than-usual quantities to make efficient use of unallocated movements and components. Quantities are limited and will not be repeated. Adding an order to your cart does not reserve it, and your order is only secured once payment is completed.

Please note that we maintain a strict one-watch-per-customer policy alongside our existing anti-flipping and anti-bot measures. Each and every order will be vetted for multiple purchases and address or recipient discrepancies, and we reserve the right to cancel any allocation that violates our anti-reseller terms.

A small note ahead of the Calendrier SBR launch.

We will be implementing stricter anti-bot measures for this upcoming release to help ensure that watches are allocated as fairly as possible to genuine collectors.

Additional checks and safeguards will be in place throughout the sale, and speed alone will not be the priority.

Please note that we maintain a strict one-watch-per-customer policy. Adding a watch to your cart does not secure an allocation, and an order is only completed once payment has been successfully processed. We will not hesitate to cancel grey or reseller orders after the fact.
