One kada on each wrist. Both are in 22-karat gold, set with emerald cabochons.
The inner surface of each bangle is smooth, not flat. Our karigars round the edges so the gold does not catch on fabric or press into the wrist bone during a long ceremony. It is a small detail. You only notice it after wearing them for four hours.
The emeralds are cut en cabochon, not faceted. They have a depth that faceted stones do not. In direct sunlight, they look almost black. In indoor light, they open up to a deep, saturated green. That shift is not a flaw. It is why cabochon cuts have been used in Indian jewellery for centuries.
