"Here, I wanted to challenge the traditional idea of embroidery. Instead of using it to embellish a dress, I wanted it to become the dress.

The idea was also to turn a symbol into couture. The heart motif was created specifically for this design and became its defining element. Each one was hand embroidered and finished with delicate pear-shaped pearls, giving it dimension while preserving its elegance.

The contrast between the delicacy of the handwork and the clean silk skirt was entirely intentional. Together, they create a look that feels both bold and refined."

"I wanted to create a strong, sculpted bodice that flowed into a dramatic taffeta skirt. The volume isn’t there to make the dress bigger; it’s there to create balance and bring a sense of movement to an otherwise clean design.

One of the things I enjoy most as a designer is working with fabric that has its own personality. Silk taffeta allows you to shape it almost like sculpture, while still feeling light when it’s worn."

"This dress was inspired by the glamour of the 1920s. I chose silk velvet because of the richness it brings to the colour and the way it absorbs and reflects light. The geometric crystal embroidery was designed to echo the elegance of the Art Deco era, but in a way that feels clean and contemporary rather than nostalgic.

One of the things I enjoyed most about designing this piece was finding the right balance between texture and simplicity. Every embroidered motif was carefully placed so the dress felt refined rather than overworked."
