Goldsmith, Jewellery Designer Berkeley Brown is a jeweller who lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her jewellery is inspired by passion surrounding food and baking.

She enjoys making precise, technical jewellery, while incorporating playful elements of movement, interaction, repeating forms and alternate materials. Necklaces inspired by whisks, tea infusers that function as lockets and rings that spin like flour sifters, all turn this exploration into jewellery. Berkeley received a BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing from the Nova Scotia College of Art

and Design in 2009. She recently spent two years in Glasgow, Scotland where she was an Artist in Resident at the Glasgow School of Art. Berkeley currently resides in Nova Scotia where she works in the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design Jewellery Department.

The memory of childhood Valentine’s excitement was sparked again by my three year old. She’s so excited, Valentines have already been made and then she asked what a heart is, what does it mean? A lot to explain, but it turns out heart symbolism has been used for thousands of years.
