Let me explain something nobody talks about with cheap earrings.

That “gold” finish? It’s just a coating. A really thin one.

Underneath it is metal that your skin would never tolerate on its own — and the only thing standing between you and irritation is that tiny layer of plating.

Now add sweat.
Salt and water are brutal on plated metals.
They break down that coating and expose everything underneath — right against your skin.

It’s why your ears are fine at first and miserable by the end of a workout.

I learned all of this when I started making earrings by hand. And once I knew, I couldn’t un-know it.

Every pair I make is skin-safe all the way through — because there’s no shortcut when it comes to what’s touching your body. 🙌
