march's shell is the olive. I love collecting olives and I love the poem "Home" about the collecting of olives. here's an excerpt:
"At 38, my younger sister has started collecting olive shells, however many she can find, their lettered and netted shapes litter her shelves, they spill out of plastic boxes,
ziploc bags and mason jars.
How hard a thing it is, to hold onto a place, to say
I live here and I am of here. How does a person come to belong?"
I wonder if any of you read this and see yourself, our shared shelling hobby, our mutual longing to belong to the sea? The poem "Home" appears in uncomfortable ecologies, written by my talented sister Elizabeth Levinson and available on amazon, target, or wherever you buy books. if you are on this page and like poetry, I promise you will enjoy this: https://www.unsolicitedpress.com/store/p426/UNCOMFORTABLEECOLOGIES.html
