This necktie rag rug transforms familiar textures and patterns into a bold, one-of-a-kind piece for the home. Each tie carries its own history, now reimagined as color, rhythm, and structure underfoot. The pointed ends become fringe, a quiet nod to what these materials used to be.

If you want to see the full process, I walk through it step by step on my YouTube channel, The Weft Wright. Link in bio.

Custom memory rugs are always available. If you have textiles you’d like transformed into something lasting, I’d love to work with you.

Wandering Vine in Turned Twill. More weaving content coming after my move next week, just in time for the Christmas season. 🤍

I just finished measuring this wet finished sample of a wandering vine scarf that I’m about to weave. This was a real challenge, as it was my first time threading 18 shafts, it’s almost perfect, I’ve got one more mistake to fix before I’m off weaving this traditional overshot pattern reimagined as a turned twill.
