This past weekend, I traveled three hours for a market that I had been really looking forward to. Between the $800 booth fee, food, gas, and hotel stay, it was already a big investment for my small business.
Unfortunately, a fire broke out, and the aftermath left my booth, and so many others, completely devastated.
Everything was covered in soot. My earring cards, tissue paper, and shopping bags are all unusable. My display stands are damaged, and I'm still trying to assess whether my earrings themselves can even be salvaged. Because of the materials l use, smoke and soot contamination may mean a total loss.
It's honestly heartbreaking. So much time, energy, and love goes into every piece and every setup, and to see it like this... it's hard to put into words.
At the end of this video, l've included a list of the other vendors who were affected. If you're able to support any of them, whether that's through a purchase, a share, or even just a follow, it would mean so much. Small businesses rely on community, and right now, a lot of us are really feeling that need.
It you'd like to support me directly, I've linked my Etsy shop where you can shop what inventory I still have available, or you can send support through Venmo. Please don't feel obligated! Sharing this post is just as meaningful and appreciated.
Thank you for being here, for caring, and for supporting handmade in all the ways that you do.
