International Equine Genetic Registry

International Equine Genetic Registry IEGR is an ALL-INCLUSIVE registry which will focus on the genetics of all breeds of horses.

Certification documented by genetic tests by a nationally recognized laboratory and certificates given for all registered and currently unregistered horses. In the near future, IEGR will offer an online search engine which will enable all registered horse owners to search for numerous criteria including color genetic markers of all known tested dilutions and modifiers, patterns, and breeds. Stalli

ons and mares of good conformation with noted factors will be able to be certified as platinum, gold, and silver certificate holders. DNA testing markers will be required to be a registered sire/dam for foaling if not already done by a nationally recognized registry and/or HWD (horse without documentation). This way we can start a "new and fresh" pedigree for those whose parentage is unknown or undocumented. This registry will be the most indepth and complete record of all horse registries available.

Our web site it up...still being fine-tuned...bear with us.

Because of our strong desire to prevent future disease statuses with any foals, and dedication to creating a better breeding standard, STARBUCKS BILLY BOB will not be bred to any mares who have positive carrier status for ANY disease on the 5-panel test (HERDA, HYPP, PSSM1, GBED or MH). We OFFER rebate for disease testing panel for mares who wish to breed and have not had testing performed. Questions welcomed. This is our personal stance.

OH, the database structure is getting there! So excited to share soon.

We are in the process of building a database and registry that will document (with verification available for subscribers) all genetic COLOR testing as well as DISEASE testing. I would appreciate any feedback you can offer regarding what you would be interested in: membership, subscription, verified certification of results (which could be performed), advertised/shared results of database which will enable search of all horses according to any of their data fields? Ideas or suggestions?
