Some years ago, we made this piece for the conductor of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, Colorado.

He loves Bach. So do we. A handwritten note arrived after our dinner, and we recognized Bach's signature in his penmanship.

Back at the office, an idea took shape: a signature lapel pin. We placed his signature on a staff. Where Bach's name moved through the four existing clefs, his became its own. A breve at the end - the longest note in standard notation.
