Iāve mentioned some of my style names before, but I never really took the time to explain them. You see, thereās just so many different ways to get certain looks or styles from resin, even using the same coloring choices. Pigments give you a stained glass look or solid-colored pieces. Alcohol ink makes chaotic and interesting patterns. Mica powders create a shimmery, textured look.
The style Iāve been exploring lately is what I call āBisbee Styleā. Bisbee was originally founded as a mining town in 1880, with the Copper Queen Mine being the biggest source of copper in Arizona in the early 1900s. I chose the name Bisbee to describe the look that comes from me adding metallic alcohol ink to clear resin. The results are chaotic (and sometimes they donāt always work, especially with smaller pieces) but when it does work it truly is stunning. Sometimes one part of the resin looks like itās been dipped in a metal coating, while other times it looks like there are veins running right through the middle of the piece.
There are tons of different metallic colors to choose from; copper, bronze, more shades of gold than I thought existed⦠Iām personally a fan of the metallic fuchsia, and the way it just cuts through and covers the piece. Want to get something made in Bisbee Style? Shoot me a DM and I can give you more info on what colors Iāve got and what pieces I can use it on!
