Lake Superior Scandinavian began in the spring of 2020, in the thick of those early pandemic days.

I still remember Sam, just 4 years old, riding along in his booster seat as I wound up and down the hills of Duluth, hanging burlap bags of handmade earrings on customers’ front doorknobs. Then we’d hop back in the car, send a quick text β€œSpecial Delivery!” and hope that in such a dark and uncertain time, we could bring a little beauty to someone’s day.

Fast forward to 2026.

This year marks 5 years in my little Bayfield boutique on Rittenhouse Ave, and 6 years of Lake Superior Scandinavian as a business. This space has been such a blessing in my life. It has helped keep my family afloat through seasons of career transition, allowed me to offer seasonal employment to some amazing humans, and turned strangers into repeat customers, and many into lifelong friends.

We hear it all the time: support local, shop small. But it truly matters. It keeps small-town economies alive and thriving.

Thank you for supporting Lake Superior Scandinavian these past 6 years. Here’s to 6 more, and counting.
