My family buys me plants every Mother’s Day, knowing my garden is where I find the purest, most relaxed joy. As I planted today I considered the honor it has been to create for so many mothers.

Mothers know what it is to nurture a dream. An input of labor, intention, care, and most desperately, hope. Many of the most meaningful pieces I create honor women who have been steadfast in hope and love despite hardship. Their stories inspire me.

Cheers to the moms nurturing our future.

Today I was sworn in as the president elect of the Tulsa Executive Association (TEA). As an outsider artist who enjoys staying outside the confines of institutions it’s curious.

I was invited to join TEA a few years ago and saw individuals who maybe weren’t very akin to me, but who were putting intention into the community of people surrounding them. A gathering of vastly different skill sets, mostly older men with long standing businesses. Around the same time a mentor told me I was a brilliant artist but he didn’t know about me being a business woman. It’s often how I’ve felt, but my desire for independence is fierce. The radical, dreamer, punk rock kid inside me still determined to define destiny. It’s why I created a business to promote my work, put myself in rooms with people that have skills I lack, engage with marketing at all, and put myself on a freaking billboard - uncomfortable tools to engage with but which spur growth. I’ve learned that being an outsider says nothing about leadership capacity and that entrenched communities are often hungry for fresh perspectives, especially when the goal truly is abundance for all.

TEA was established in the 1920s, bringing business leaders together to ensure support and success through the Great Depression and Dust Bowl and continues to create a community of abundance in Tulsa. I’m honored to carry the torch during my tenure as Madame President. 🔥🌹

I have a vivid memory. When we’re younger, almost half of our lives ago, Seth rode on a silver fixed gear bike wearing short cut off jean shorts, jumping off dramatically into a hip shaking dance, his Walkman blaring loudly in his ears. “Children behave… that’s what they say when we’re together” he sang.
He introduced my sheltered younger self to culture in the most eclectic way, totally unashamed to relish in the delight of sugary girlpop like Tiffany. He would often whisper wishingly “I think we’re alone now”…. funny how that worked out.

100 years of Mother Road. This year marks the Centennial of Route 66. Journeys along this route of discovery are an American tradition known around the world. This road is famous because the spirit of the West continues to inspire the imagination. Dreams are still possible out west. Our studio sits near the Arkansas River bank where Rt 66 crosses from the forests of the East to Western plains. As we celebrate our history, we remember how we got here, gaining perspective for the future we create. Our own ambitions are part of the history of Rt 66. I’m proud to be ‘part of the Rt 66 vibe’ - thanks to for the coverage.

And thanks to for my favorite quilt jacket 🌹

Life is imperfect. The same thing that breaks us can create opportunity for reflection and transformation. We pulled this 3.7 carat aquamarine from a family heirloom, with imperfections scattered throughout from a lifetime of wear, and designed a new ring honoring the unique characteristics of a woman’s family. This ring is a talisman of remembrance and power to write the story of your future while honoring your past.
