Have you ever started a project, and even though you thought you had it well planned out, it started to go sideways?
Maybe you got so frustrated with it, that you decided the best plan was to just start over?
Well, that's how this pendant started. I had big ideas, and then while trying to make the frame, it started to go sideways. Literally. It was so crooked and the more I tried to work it, the worse it got.
I decided to start another pendant, and had planned on taking this one apart. But after finishing the next one, I looked at it with fresh eyes, and somehow it just started to all come together.
It's not finished yet, I still need to clean up (sand down) all the little nicks and scratches on the silver.
To be perfectly honest, I could oxidize this, polish it up and tell you it's finished. The nicks are tiny and I'm sure no one would ever notice them.
But I would know. And I would know that I should've taken the time to clean this piece up. I know that the value is in all the details.
I take great joy in making these pieces of jewelry and I am a huge believer in doing the best job you possibly can, so under the sandpaper this piece goes!
I can't wait to finish it up and antique the silver. Then comes my favorite part... sharing it with you!
If you read all of this, thanks for sticking around! 🤣🤣🤣
