I can still remember the very first bead I collected 30 years ago. An African trade bead, gifted by a dear friend. I instantly loved beads and was mesmerized by the history and stories they carry. I’ve been collecting beads ever since, and I can still tell you where nearly every one of them came from, a boutique in Venice, Italy, vintage glass from a funky shop in Santa Monica, my first Tucson gem show….
Each bead holds a story: the colors, the textures, the intention I felt when I found it. Some are ancient, some handmade by artisans, and others just caught my eye for reasons I still can’t explain. Together, they form a mosaic of memories and meaning.
It is more than a collection, it’s a lifelong love affair with beauty, history, and energy.
