I’ve had a rough week and it really crashed around me yesterday. Today, I took myself to a local vintage show and found some amazing treasures 😍 Maybe I’ll share on here… maybe not. Anyway, I came home and got busy on my little dumbo octopus that I’ve had on my mental to do list for EVER 🥰 He or she came out SO perfectly! Instead of doing a little reveal video and the same image I have taken of my work, I squeezed in this image A. because I carved outside in the sunshine and B. because we decided to go to the beach to take advantage of one of the last few summer-like days. The calm water, the warm breeze, the bald eagle, and rock hounding like lazy bassets with my boys were all exactly what I needed. I’m ready to pick myself up. Again. ✨

Woof this summer has been jam packed. I don’t know why I’m surprised EVERY SINGLE SUMMER. Probably because I grew up watching The Music Man, Picnic, The Parent Trap among many others and I always expect my summers to be full of lazing, horseback riding, and looking forward to Robert Preston coming to town. 🫠 Turns out (apart from the facts that I don’t own horses and Harold Hill doesn’t exist), I blinked, and now it’s 8 days till school starts. 😆

Arch and I squeezed in our trip down to GR and the highlight (NATURALLY) was feeding the giraffes 🦒 🥰✨ Today I sat down and attempted a sketch of Arch with a couple of curious giraffes and came to find out the ink on my new parallel pen makes for VERY interesting sketches once it gets wet 🥴 Ah well! I leaned into it and finished my art reminding myself that art is NEVER perfect nor should it ever be 💛 Cheers to these last few days of official summertime

Wow. The past couple of weeks (aka the end of the school year) have been frigging nutso around here. So I am FINALLY getting around to numbering and signing my prints to FINALLY get them out to where they will await their new adventures ✨💛🦒 *available all summer at Sleeping Bear Surf & Kayak as well as my website*
