So here's the announcement....
After multiple meetings and conversations the past couple months, I have accepted a short term contract as the Art & Cultural Center Director at Mi Centro in Tacoma.
Before some of you ask... yes my boss knows. And no, I will not be leaving my role within our team. Mari's just gonna be extra busy AROUND the clock for a bit.
I know that taking on this role to help facilitate the build out of this space, also means being respectful and mindful of the work already taking place in the city for BIPOC arts. I look forward to learning and connecting with the team and other folks in the area, and create a meaningful space for artists and the overall community.
A huge shoutout to the two homies who threw my name into the mix for this opportunity. And an even bigger shoutout for the encouragement I recieved in the planning and final decision making process. I owe you tacos AAAND a mangonada...😁🥰

Buenos dias and happy Friday mi gente. It's 1 a.m. and my very tired self just submitted a final draft proposal for a project I'm really excited to take part in Tacoma.
I'll officially be able to share the full news next week. But for now I can say that I'm grateful for the folks in my life who have shown there support for this brown mujer... even in those subtle "I see you" moments. Feeling extra proud to know that I've been able to step into these crazy life opportunities being my most authentic self, and that I'll be able to give back to the community I now call home. 🙃

Finally done with this commission piece for Latino Civic Alliance. This will be installed in their new space in downtown Burien.
A lot of planning went into this piece... and a lot of learning too. 😊 It's always good to see how far we can stretch ourselves as artists. Grateful for the opportunity and excited to see it in its new home later this week.

The "All Art Under $100 Art Show" at starts today... !!
I dropped off two 8x10 canvas reprints of the images in the next two slides ("We Who Create Ourselves" and "Ruby"). I did not get extra of these two for this batch. So if they caught your eye, make sure to stop by this weekend!! 🥰

A huge shoutout to the cousins and for guiding us through the Valley of Fire, during the last few hours we had prior to heading back home. We'll finish the rest of the hike later-later. 😁

When you start a new journey as part of a beautiful trio of southwest folks in the northwest for over two years, and the time comes for one to spread her wings and fly... you get special gifts. 💛🌵💛🌲💛
No prints for this one because it was a gift. But definitely got inspired to do something similar in the near future.
