This space was calling for something classic, timeless and cozy, with just a subtle nod to New England; ticking stripe Roman shades felt like the obvious choice.

After a 1.5-year hiatus, your girl is back!

It was a long time coming, but I’m back with a fresh perspective; always with the same love for lived-in beauty, worn wood and ticking stripe everything, but this time I’m following my heart… took me a while to find that path, but here we are!

For those new here, I’m Danielle and I live in a creaky old colonial on Long Island’s North Shore — where brass candlesticks, collected art, and coffee walks around Mill Pond— a major landmark of the American Revolution, are just a few of my favorite things. For those of you who have followed me from the beginning, hi friends! 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’m really hoping you’ll share this journey with me once again.

This space is where I’ll share interiors inspired by early American tradition, with a little bit of Cape Cod charm, and just the right amount of Ralph Lauren polish as we work to transform our home one space at a time.

A few months ago, I was accepted as a collaborator with and it is probably one of the things I am most excited about as a “designer “. Deanne’s pillows and home decor are like nothing I’ve ever seen. They are beautiful, hand-crafted, individual works of art that can be displayed around your home and lived in.

It took me a while to choose which pillows to start with because they are all STUNNING. I started with these 3 and have about 7 others in my cart that I can’t wait to purchase for my master bedroom remodel.

Spring has sprung! 🌸🌿

After spending 10 days in Italy, it was so nice to come back to spring weather, sunlight and a bright and airy kitchen! It took everything I had to get on the plane to come home, but this welcoming space made the transition a little easier. Thanks to and Restoration Hardware for making this space 👌🏻

It’s been a little challenging to get my mind off of Italy these last few days.. we had the best time and in a perfect world, I’d move there tomorrow. In the meantime, I’ll settle for cappuccinos and croissants in my little breakfast nook on LI. And yes, I’ve had three cappuccino’s since I’ve been home.

March is one of the craziest times of the year for me; Spring sports kick in, getting the house/yard ready for summer, and this year I’m knee-deep in getting my business off the ground! Haven’t had much time to focus on some of the projects I’ve wanted to, but I need to remind myself that homes take time to make our own!

Even in the crazy, this picture makes my happy. It reminds me that at least one little part of the house is “done”, although let’s see how long the coffee table lasts 🙃. Looking forward to some time off to get moving on some of the projects I’ve had my mind on! Happy Monday!

I’ve come to really appreciate simplicity as I’ve gotten older. Clean silouhettes, a pretty pillow and simple statement pieces can really elevate a space.

Even though white is a risk, I love this chair and a half from paired with a simple black floor lamp from . It makes for the perfect Sunday morning coffee spot. I can’t wait for my pillows to get here to really take it to another level!

Lesson of the day: less is more. Except when talking coffee, diamonds and mint chocolate chip 🤤

I think my favorite part of our kitchen is the island. Of course, in retrospect there are so many things I would’ve done differently in the kitchen if I could do it all again, but even so, this Island makes me happy. The satin brass hardware, waterfall detail and the color against the oak floors make me so happy every morning. It’s farmhouse-meets-traditional-meets-glam.. clean and classic.

Until she spilled her coffee all over it 2 minutes after taking this picture! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I love a white kitchen. Unoriginal, I know, and sometimes I think white kitchens get a bad rap; too sterile, tough to keep clean, everyone has it… I get it!

But why do white kitchens catch our eye? The cleanliness? The simplicity? The elegance? The cheeriness? All of the above? Can’t be sure. But pair a white kitchen with some coffee, wood tones and a little greenery.. your girl is one happy camper! 🥰

Something I’ve learned a lot about over the last few years is texture…

Layering, mixing hard and soft and light and dark can make a room cozier; and if you know me you know that’s my jam.. cozy and lived in. If you can’t live in it, what’s the point?

The total cost for the items in this picture was $85. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a million times.. style does not mean expensive! So many of you on here find bargains at thrift stores, Homegoods.. and my fav— Facebook Marketplace! In fact… check out my stories for today’s find!

I am a serial coffee-table changer. If we are lucky, a coffee table stays with us for 6-8 months.

Back in December I pulled the trigger and bought my dream, high end, $$$ coffee table- only to sell it two months later. Something about it wasn’t doing it for me. Enter this one; an uneven, in need of new k***s $40 FBMP beauty— and I’m in love…

…at least for the next 8 months 🤪
