For me, breastfeeding was particularly tough yet incredibly rewarding. I wanted to find a way to celebrate that experience and the bond it created with my son. That’s how Ounces to Ashes came to be. What started as a tribute to breastfeeding journeys has grown into something much more. Every piece I create is completely custom—and it all starts with what matters most to you.

Here are some of the most common inclusions I work with:

🩵This piece is one of the most unique requests I’ve ever received—and one I’ll never forget.

A tie clip… and a custom shifter k**b.
Both made using their dad’s ashes.

Something he touched often and…
Something tied to memories, conversations, and time spent together.

Now, instead of those moments living only in memory,
they get to hold onto something real. Something tangible.

This specific shifter k**b, came directly from one of their father's car where I ground out the shift pattern, creating a groove to hold the ashes of their father. Forever embedded in one of his favorite past times.

Have you ever heard of memorial jewelry?

Memorial jewelry allows meaningful materials to be preserved inside a wearable piece of art.

Some of the inclusions I work with include:

• Cremation ashes
• Breastmilk
• Wedding flowers
• Hair or fur
• Sand from meaningful places
• Fabric from clothing or blankets

Only a very small amount of material is needed, and it is carefully preserved inside the jewelry so that it can be worn and cherished every day.

For many people, these pieces become some of their most treasured possessions.

For those of you that are new here, I thought I should re-introduce myself....

Hi, I’m Kati — the artist behind Ounces to Ashes.

I started this business when I became a mother to this sweet boy and wanted to preserve the bond I developed with my him while breastfeeding. Not only is it a bonding experience but it is also a very big commitment and I wanted a way to honor that.

I believe the people and moments we love most deserve to be remembered in a way that lasts forever.

At Ounces to Ashes, I create custom jewelry using meaningful inclusions such as:

• cremation ashes
• breastmilk
• dried flowers
• fabric from loved ones
• sand from special places
• pet fur or hair
..the possibilities are endless!

Each piece is handcrafted with care and designed to hold memories close to your heart every day.

There are thousands of good dogs in this world… but I truly believe each of us only gets one real soul dog in our lifetime.
The one that becomes your shadow, your comfort, your safe place.
The one you don’t even have to speak to — they just know you.

For me, that was Aria.
Losing her in October broke a piece of my heart that I don’t think will ever fully heal. 🖤🐾
