I’ve been holding onto these for a hot minute. These tags all came from one estate, the estate of Dottie Dillard. My locals here may recall her wildly popular estate sale that was jam packed full of vintage clothes and vintage jewelry and we brought home a good majority of the clothes from this estate.
Dottie was a bit of a local legend around here, she was known for singing back up vocals for huge singers of the time, including Johnny Cash. Dottie kept records of everything, down to the date she bought something, where it was from, what she paid for it and what event she bought it for or what event she wore it to.
I held onto this box of all the tags for her clothes she had kept, ranging from the 1950s-1970s and each and every single tag has the personal info pertaining to the garment. I’ve had these in my closet for almost a decade and finally got around to displaying them and putting them in this shadow box that I can continue to add vintage tags to through a slot in the top.
I took the time to look at each tag, seeing lots of local business tags and lots from Tennessee when she was in the midst of her singing career, she even held onto this parking ticket from 1966 😅
Glad these all got to stay together and probably holds little to no importance to anyone but me so I’m happy to have them and they all now live displayed in my studio and I’ll continue adding to it during my lifetime. I hope another vintage lover appreciates it as I do when I’m gone ❤️
