OUR STORY // My interest in gemstones was born in a big bright window filled gallery overlooking the NYC skyline on a trip to a museum when I was little. I was enamored by their individuality, each a unique beauty created by nature. In college, I studied art history and museology abroad in Italy and developed a love of learning about history through one of our oldest professions - craft specializa
tion - which of course includes jewelry making. I especially loved seeing the jewelry through time and space, the development of techniques lent a perspective that had me realizing how cyclical the process of creation truly is. After having spent some time working in fine jewelry and fashion, I began to glean knowledge about the modern day industry while refining my design aesthetic. A few years later I began dabbling in making my very own pieces. I started out with beading and wire wrapping and eventually returned to Italy to learn metalsmithing and have been honing my skills since. THE STUDIO // My studio is located in Neptune, New Jersey - just a short distance from the salty shores of Asbury Park where Crea Designs came to fruition in 2015. Every piece is handcrafted to order from a combination of sheet metal, wire, and gemstones. There is a delicate, minimalist quality to each piece; a sculptural balance in bringing the two dimensional items into a third dimension of viewing and wearability. Every piece is crafted in small batches with the utmost attention to detail. Form and function coupled with versatility in design and style is fundamental to each and every piece I make. BRAND VALUES // Wear your Crea Designs pieces with confidence. You should feel empowered that the versatility in design gives you the choice of how to express your style sustainably everyday. All metals and gemstones are ethically sourced from manufacturers in the US, EU, and Asia. I use a combination of conflict free hand cut gemstones from a family owned lapidary in India as well as American mined stones. While my components and some of my bolder chains are handcrafted using wire from US manufacturers, the more delicate chains and other parts are supplied from the EU. All metals can be traced through SDS (safety data sheets) and are EU compliant, and thus free of nickel.
