We were still celebrating Christmas with family here yesterday, but I’m jumping in late to join the fun!! Thanks so much for choosing me to help cohost!! This old sled with my early childhood skates reminds me of Wisconsin winters. We skated on the pond and at the outdoor city rink which was a flooded parking lot with string lights for nighttime. It was a wonderful time!!

Merry Christmas Eve! Today we’ll finish up prep details, attend candlelight serve and be with family. I have a lot to do but somehow feel relaxed and peaceful as if I have all day! Well I’m going to switch gears shortly, but I’m thankful for these morning moments to pray, reflect, and be still. Hoping you have His peace and a blessed day!

🌲Well it doesn’t look like we will have a white Christmas, so my penguins will just have to stay inside and enjoy the fire. Today is another busy day with a Christmas party at the clinic and running to do.

I’ve included a passage that is meaningful this week. I’ve enjoyed and particularly taken note of how often the Lord used his angels as messengers in the birth of Jesus and the time leading up to it. This is where Gabriel (a top gun archangel) appears to Zachariah to tell him his wife Elizabeth was going to have a son (John the Baptist). When John replied to Gabriel that they were essentially too old, the angel shut Zack’s mouth and he couldn’t speak until John was born. God was giving them a son in spite of his disbelief, but Zachariah needed to keep his mouth shut. The whole story is in Luke chapter 1. The lesson to me this week is when you know God is doing things in your life, don’t get out of agreement with it by what you speak.

Vs 8 Zechariah was on duty with his division of priests. As he served in God’s presence, 9 he was chosen by priestly custom to go into the Lord’s temple to burn incense. 10 All the people were praying outside while he was burning incense.

11 Then, to the right of the incense altar, an angel of the Lord appeared to him. 12 Zechariah was troubled and overcome with fear.

13 The angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife Elizabeth will have a son, and you will name him John. Luke 1:8-13

It’s no problem to have Christmas in the heart around here. Christmas always brings back special memories of sledding and ice skating and Christmas fun. Add in church services with little shepherds and sheep and Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus playing the nativity scene and it was all too special to forget.
