Dang Brave Girl Brave Jewelry for life's Mountains and Valleys, created to carry you across Rivers and through Forests. I share that with you because it's important.

I started making jewelry after my son Jesse died in 2011. Life changing important. I think it became some sort of therapy and way of coping. As I learn to live with that loss I can tell you that I am being transformed. It is wholly and fully through the GRACE OF GOD that I am brave. I certainly don't feel like it at times but I am blessed with my other talented, brave son Tucker, an amazing family

, a posse of supportive, loving friends and a husband who loves me more than I deserve. Thank you for being here and I wish you well.

Apparently I have a mind for sets and pairing things together....I didn't plan for this but once I got rolling I definitely followed the lead.
I can also appreciate 'simple' looking pieces, the kind you reach for often because they ride well with just about anything and yet they still have meaning 💙.

Feathers, turquoise and sentiment... for when life feels extra heavy and complicated.... sweet, simple pieces to carry you through.

Never Forgotten ~
I have a couple handfuls of sea glass, collected on an anniversary of my son's passing. We walked a local beach for an hour to get to a spot that held this treasure, waiting for me I believe.
I have rarely used any of the pieces I found on those special days but every once in awhile, it's meant to be.
I also tried my hand at 'engraving' again, without 'proper' tools, just with what I had, and I love the result on that chunky silver feather.

Good morning.... it was impossible not to make a matching set when these stones started calling to me from my drawer.
Rhodochrosite is so very pretty and it's a stone I don't see often as I've heard it's harder to find quality material now. I haven't been hoarding these.... just waiting.
A stone of love and emotional healing.... and gosh, you just can't stop staring at it.
The blooming cuff has the sentiment 'She Talks To Angels' on the inside band, a special reminder just for you.
The large teardrop shaped pendant carries the 'Always' blessing, along with a heart, on the back. A engraved feather hangs and hugs close by.
While these definitely look like they were meant to be together, I did list them separately.

I've made feather rings before, but these are my best yet. Maybe it's because of where my heart was making them, maybe it's the thicker silver, the extra layer detail of the shaft or those millions of little hair-like hammer strikes.
And yes, they are technically adjustable but I'm happy to make any sizing changes for you before I send it your way. I only made 2 and they are currently sized at 7.5 & 8.
The silver cuff will be forever available 🩷 and the big brass feather cuff is a ooak.
I didn't plan a big hoopla collection, didn't spend days or weeks previewing it all.... for some reason that didn't feel right. I'm just putting some special pieces out there tonight, and if you connect, I'll be so honored.

She Talks To Angels.... I've been working on some pieces as this last month moved through me. It's not a big collection, it wasn't designed or planned, it just came about slowly, some with intention, some with grace, some seemingly without my consent.... and all with love.

I've had moments that I didn't know if I'd even share them with you... there is a part of me that will also hold the loss of son so close to me that no one can see. It's just mine. And then there is the part that knows that to share means others who know that same loss have a connection in some way... and that connection matters.

So here we are.

I made this pendant for my mama.... and she also got my first ever sunflower mug rug! And since I really loved the way it turned out, I've made a few more for you guys. I'll keep you posted when they are up on DBG.

Dear Jesse,
15 years ago today we left the hospital without you. It seems like forever and yesterday all at once. And it seems like I'm still saying goodbye.

I've made a few pieces lately to honor you, but then hasn't that always been what DBG was about in some way? I feel like this craft was a gift.... maybe you sent it, maybe it was God, maybe both of you... however it got here, it was a blessing. It has saved me in countless ways. It's given me a space and place to express what words can't say. A path where tears can fall without having to hide them. A haven of sorts to hold me in a way no one else can.
I am forever grateful for that. But most of all I am grateful I have found ways to still carry you with me.

Thank you for being my boy, my heart and my angel.

🌻A hand knotted citrine (gorgeous faceted rondelle beads) mala with a silk tassel and sterling silver citrine bloom.
🌻Moss Agate (who couldn't stare into that stone forever) sunflower leather cuff.
