These dolls were found in thrift shops, and garage sales, ready for disposal. They now have a new lease on life. And thats what reusing, recycling, and rescuing is all about. Please enjoy! arth Wood Beauty Dolls are created using used dolls found in various places. When I bring them home, I instantly remove their faces using acetone nail polish remover. After that, I bath and sanitize them head toe using organic soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. I then decide how I am going to style the dolls hair. If they are going to get curls, I use pipes cleaners, straws, bobbi pins, and braids to curl or wave the dolls hair. Boiling the hair keeps the style in tact. After boiling, I then move onto their faces. Acrylic paints are used for their make unders, along with tiny paint brushes. Each hair style is sprayed with organic oils for shine. Their clothing is upcycled, or hand made using old, unwanted, and damage materials, such as clothing, pillow cases, table clothes, and so on, or a mixture of both.. When the doll is complete with new hair, face, clothing, shoes, and accessories, I seal the dolls face with a satin varnish, and infuse a scent from an organic essential oil such as lavender, tea tree, patchouli, and so on. The entire process takes anywhere from 6-8 hours depending on the doll. The doll is then packaged in a box made by a recycling factory, and cushioned with paper for protection. I try to personalize each box by decorating it with twine, threads, beads, pendants, and so on. Included with all sales are doll, with outfit shown, shoes, certificate of Authenticity, and any other accessories listed. Each doll is signed with my signature on the back of the neck/head area.
