Today I finished this piece I’m calling “The Desert Was An Ocean Once”, which I started during my week at last month. It is made of limestone and two beach rocks I found along the California shore.

This piece of mine “Ant Lore no.14” is in the show!

Ant Lore no.14 is part of my Land Art series, which explores the abstracted textures and patterns of the desert floor in multiple mediums. This is an intaglio drypoint and mono print on paper.

I am currently working on more three-dimensional exportations of this theme in stone, bronze, cast glass, and silver.

Bottom half= all the ocean-tumbled rocks gifted by the beaches

Both will be useful to all my artmaking endeavors soon! Carving, casting, mold-making, material exploration and experimentation coming this summer!
