Please allow us to introduce, our guest of honor, HON. TRUSTEE PAPALI’I MANŪFOU LIAIGA-ANOA’I!🔥 Commissioner. Manufou Liaiga Anoa'i Manufou Liaiga-Anoa'i for Daly City Council San Franciscan Native. A vigorous fighter. for Equity, Inclusion, & Access. A Social Justice Advocate. A Voice for the People. Women, & youth. The first Samoan Pacific Islander to serve as Board Trustee, past President, Vice President and Clerk to the Jefferson Elementary School District since elected in 2015. During her tenure the district implemented an Ethnic Studies Curriculum, launched Work Force, Housing Development, authored a Climate Justice Resolution, & established an Equity Statement. She also served as California State Superintendent Co-Chair on the Closing the Achievement Gap Initiative. She is the first Samoan Pacific Islander to serve as Commissioner and Past Vice President since 2011 on the San Mateo County Commission on the Status of Women. Serves as a Commissioner on the City of Daly City Personnel Board, & San Mateo County Arts Commission.
Papali’i has led various initiatives for the County. is actively involved in a variety of movements and causes locally, nationally and globally.
In, 2009, founded Pacific Islander Community Partnership (PICP)Pacific Islander Community Partnership, (PICP) .bayarea Engage • Educate • & Empower Pasefika through community partnerships. Providing programs & services to create an equitable environment for PI communities. & in 2011 created Camp Unity Polynesian Inspired Summer Enrichment Program Camp Unity .unity - a Free Polynesian Pacific Islander Summer Enrichment Program. Polynesian Heritage Awards (Bay Area focused) Polynesian Heritage AwardsCelebrating Polynesian history and embracing our journey forward. & Ata Mai Dance Academy
Papali’i’s work reaches globally to assist in eradicating domestic and child abuse in the Pacific Islands and raising readers through collaborations with Books for Barrios.
