Two years ago in Tucson, I bought some dark rocks with pink sapphire crystals. The first pendant I made sold the first weekend and paid for the whole deal.

This morning I wondered why I seemed driven to go first thing this a.m. To a show that was closing today. What you see is the reason. The dealer was packing up today and gave me a really good deal on whe whole shoebox full. The blue crystal is lazulite, the blue mineral in lapis lazuli. The white is calcite. One silver pendant will cost about twice what I paid for the whole deal.

I got a great break yesterday. I will be the exclusive silversmith at a new gallery in Coronado. Emerald Coconut Gallery & Goods has it's opening reception on Friday, Oct 3. The best part is the location. The gallery is on Orange Avenue about a block toward downtown from the "downtown corner" of the Hotel Del Coronado. I didn't see this coming, but I was getting clarity and focus on "creating space" for my jewelry business growth. And a few days later.....the universe responded.

I'm back at about 98% after breaking a vertebra in January. I resumed a limited show schedule in late May, and am back to my regular show schedule. May back muscles are built up enough that I can spend more than just a couple of hours a day in my studio.

I'd love to have this in my display cabinet. Only $22.5K. The amethysts I use in my jewelry are slices from stalactites like those in picture.

Big score Friday was some new gem silica from Ray Mine. Noticed fortification agate pattern in some pieces. Otherwise it would have been pricey. But I think I can get some killer earrings/pendants out of them. Will post photos when I get back home.
