Two etiquette events at the University Club Atop Symphony Towers in one week - pinch us! Today we enjoyed an afternoon with the younger members of the University Club teaching a Children’s Etiquette and Tea. So much fun! These cute kiddos were so sweet and polite. Besides dining and social skills, they learned that being kind and courteous is truly what good manners are all about. 💛

It’s that time of year again - graduation season! Here a few tips to navigate sending and receiving graduation announcements:⁣
⁣
🎓 Graduation announcements should be sent out AFTER the graduation ceremony. ⁣
⁣
🎓 Send announcements to those you are in close contact with - think relatives, those on your holiday card list, and especially those who the graduate would recognize in person (not just to those who the parent only knows!)⁣
⁣
🎓 If you receive a graduation announcement, you are not required to send a gift - but you certainly can send one or a card of congratulations if you would like. ⁣
⁣
🎓 Even if you don’t receive an announcement, feel free to send a gift or card to the graduate. ⁣
⁣
🎓 The best gifts are ones that the graduate will use in their next stage of life. Money is always a much appreciated option but also consider something the graduate might use in their dorm or at their new job. ⁣
⁣
🎓 Give from the heart - a gift of any size or a hand written congratulations will always be meaningful.

Last night Quail & Ivy enjoyed teaching cocktail and dining etiquette to over 30 fabulous members of the University Club of San Diego. We shared more than 100 of our favorite etiquette tips and tricks with them! The ambience was perfect, the dinner absolutely delicious, and the members were so fun and interactive - we had the BEST time. Catching the stunning sunset from the 34th floor of Symphony Towers was a nice bonus, too!

We are looking forward to being there again this Saturday for our Children’s Afternoon Etiquette Tea. Thank you, University Club San Diego, for having us at these great events!

Our Tuesday Toast goes out to Ed Witt and Ann Witt, and their sweet dog, Emma, from La Jolla, California. Ed and Ann have been involved with Father Joe’s Villages for more than 20 years and have worked hard to help the homeless in San Diego. This year they are Honorary Chairs of the Hope Lives Here Campaign where the goal is to move hundreds of neighbors off the streets and into homes of their own at Saint Theresa of Calcutta Villa. Father Joe’s believes that with the right services and support, people can and do accomplish positive change in their lives.
