I am pleased to announce that we will "start" our D/FW Kumihimo Group meeting on the 4th Tuesday (Feb 27th) at 1pm at the Wild Beads store - - 2833 Galleria Dr., Arlington, TX. Another possible mtg option is in the evening (or Saturday) every couple of months. I will bring several books for us to review and decide upon which one to start.

Not everyone checks their FB or even emails everyday and I've not received a reply from a couple with their email address so that I can let them know of our first meeting. If anyone has the email address for Elizabeth Harkins, Christina Smith and/or Carolyn C. Howell, I would appreciate you forwarding it to me.

If you would like to bring some of what you have made on your Marudai, please feel free to do so - - - this is a study group and we want to learn from everyone.

I'd like to start a Kumihimo Study Group in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. My initial thoughts are to meet monthly and work through a book (to be chosen at our first meeting). Members can braid with whatever materials they choose: fiber, beads or combination thereof. I’d prefer that all braiding be done on a marudai, and I’d be happy to teach any that don’t currently do so. Wild West Beads in Arlington has offered their store as a meeting place, so, if you are the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and interested in becoming a member please message me. I look forward to hearing from many of you. Thanks!!!

Thrilled with what I’ve learned so far in the first 2 days of the American Kumihimo Gathering in Tampa. Wire Braiding with Giovanna Imperia - 8 strands (Edo Yatsu) & 16 strands (Naiki); each strand has 8 32-gauge wires. Then a Tatami Yatsu-se braid with Makiko Tada. I hope everyone that wishes to gets the same opportunity some day. Sharing knowledge with so many other braiding enthusiasts has been so very inspiring!
