The Ticklish Brush

The Ticklish Brush I draw animals and share meaning behind each theme. You will see my process, the story, the symbolism and the takeaway here!

I make art you can hang, use and move with! šŸŽØ If you love symbolism, you’re in the right place ✨

For a long time, I was doing everything I needed to do for everyone else… family, responsibilities, daily life… and somewhere in the middle of all that, I stopped feeling connected to myself creatively.

The other day I saw a barn swallow flying freely through the sky, twisting and turning however it wanted, and something about it really hit me. It reminded me how important it is to make space for the parts of yourself that feel alive.

That feeling became part of the inspiration behind my swallow artwork and why I love symbolism in art so much. Sometimes an image can quietly remind you of who you are becoming. šŸ–Œļø

It all started in my head and then it lives on my iPad.
Then I turned my panda drawing into a sports bra and shorts and leggings!

I like pandas because they are black and white and they look like a living yin Yang sign that feels balanced and calm to me. So it’s nice having that show up in something you actually wear.

That’s really what I’m doing with my work! Turning my art into pieces you can use in real life!

I Drew The Giraffe… and It Turned Into Something like this!

I later realized why I draw the giraffe… to me, it represents, growth, stretch beyond the limit, being able to see further than where you are right now.

So I turned my art into something that you can use to remind us who we are!

That’s what I’ve been building, art with meaning you can live with!

This one really clicked for me when I got into the mane.

It turned into this rhythm… like one stroke into the next, and I just kept following it.

I wasn’t trying to figure out the whole piece ahead of time.
If I did, I probably would’ve stalled.

I just started… and let the next step show up after that.

And that’s honestly how a lot of things work.

You don’t need the full plan.
You don’t need to feel 100% ready.

You just need to start.

Once you do, things tend to build on their own.
One step leads to the next, and it gets easier to keep going.

That’s what this piece carries for me.

And if you’re in that place where you’ve been thinking about something for a while…
maybe this is your sign to just begin.

This turtle took 11 hours to draw.
I didn’t rush a single part of it.

There were moments I wanted to move faster, skip ahead, finish it sooner.
But every time I slowed back down, the piece got better.

That’s why I chose the turtle.
Not because it’s slow… but because it doesn’t force progress.

It keeps moving, steady, until the work actually feels right.

This is one of the pieces I chose to bring onto canvas.
Something that doesn’t rush you when you look at it.

I’ve never been good at just sitting around.

Even on vacation, my brain doesn’t really shut off.
Especially during in transit… it feels like wasted time.

So I stopped trying to force myself to relax the ā€œnormalā€ way.

This is the one thing that actually slows me down without me fighting it.

I’ll be in a car, on a plane, by the pool, on the couch…
and somehow I end up here.

Its not planned but
It just makes the time feel better.

If you’re someone who can’t fully ā€œturn offā€ either… you’ll get it.

This piece didn’t start as a product.
It came from a real experience that stayed with me.

I’ve always been drawn to how German shepherds carry themselves. There’s a steadiness to them that doesn’t need attention to be felt.

I translated that into a design so it could live outside that moment and become something you can actually use.

Drawing the bald eagle and reflecting on why this bird has held symbolic meaning across cultures.

The eagle is often connected with vision, perspective, and the ability to rise above noise to see the larger picture. In this short time-lapse from Procreate, the drawing unfolds quickly while exploring the quiet symbolism behind the eagle.

I don’t just draw swallows.
I live with them.

Every piece begins on my iPad and becomes something I can move in. Something that stays with me.

The swallow represents freedom , new beginning and choosing your own direction!

I’m completely caught off guard with people’s reaction on this!! Thank you for those who watch my reel!! 🄰🄰

My work centers on symbolic animal art and the slow process behind it. It’s not about speed. It’s about staying with something long enough for it to say what it needs to say.

I spent almost eleven hours on this turtle painting. Not because I was moving slowly, but because I chose not to skip the parts that felt unfamiliar.

For me, the turtle represents persistence. It keeps going without rushing and without abandoning the work halfway through. That’s the mindset I stayed in while finishing this piece, especially when I reached the parts I didn’t fully understand yet.

This painting came together because I stayed with it.
