Do you find yourself carrying around crystals and polished stones in your pockets? Has the tragedy of losing one of these minerally companions ever happened to you? It’s time for solutions. It’s time to wrap those bbs in wire.
Join us at Scrap Collective on Friday, 7/24 for an introductory course in wire wrapping techniques using crystals and polished stones. Feel free to bring any special stones you might want to wrap (if you do, come in a few minutes early so we can talk about whether those stones will work for this project). If you don’t have a stone you want to wrap or if your stone is not quite right for this project, it’s okay- everyone will have the option to grab a crystal, polished stone, or pottery shard to work with.
What to bring: Jewelry pliers and flush cutters if you have them (we also have several class sets that people can share), magnification aids if you need them, stones or crystals up to two inches long that you feel might be a good candidate for wrapping, and any cool rocks you want to show the class (I love cool rocks). Copper wire will be provided.
Please Note:
This class involves using the hands to complete controlled, repetitive movements. It also involves looking at tiny details as you are crafting. Please consider bringing and supportive and magnification aides you might need to make things comfortable for you!
This is a very similar class to the intro class I taught in April. While previous attendees are welcome to come again, you will mainly be learning the same skills in this class.
