How RockCrave was born...
On Christmas Day 2020 my Covid test came back positive. No surprise since my lost of smell also happened that day. I went to smell a bottle of lotion I received in my stocking and I couldn't smell it; just like that, my sense of smell was gone. As the days, weeks, and months went on, my smell didn't return. There was a sadness I needed to recognize and a state of stress I needed to comfort as one of my five senses was not returning. That's when my passion of rocks was born. Simply put, rocks were my coping mechanisms. I didn't need to smell rocks to enjoy them. They were lovely to look at and had a comforting feel in my hands. I enjoyed learning about their origins, history, and uses. I enjoyed collecting and displaying them. And then one day I thought, how fun it would be to wear rocks! I started designing and creating rock accessories. I make every piece by hand in my home studio in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
* I'm thankfully to say, that my sense of smell is getting closer to being normal (as of January 2022).
* I use the word rocks in a fun, very loose way. To me rocks, can mean crystals, fossils, petrified wood, shells, etc.
