As Thanksgiving approaches, I’ve been reflecting on how much this past year has changed us. Many of you may have noticed that Andrew and I have been quieter than usual. Last Thanksgiving, my brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor and later glioblastoma. In that moment, our priorities shifted—we knew the most important thing we could do was show up for him, however he needed us.
He and his wife made the enormous decision to move from Washington State to Virginia, and much of our year was spent traveling, helping, supporting, and simply being present. All of this came just one month after Andrew lost his mother to cancer, so the decision to step back from shows and social media was an easy one, even if it wasn’t planned.
This fall brought another heavy moment as we said goodbye to our beloved Ozzie, who was the inspiration for our very first animal-themed jewelry piece. His spirit continues with us every day—we carry it into our work, our rescue efforts, and even now, as we sit here waiting to welcome the first foster dog we’ve been able to take in for many months. Our hope is that through our jewelry and our hearts, we continue supporting the causes closest to us: cancer charities, alzheimers and dog rescue.
Today, we are grateful to say that my brother is approaching his one-year anniversary—something we are truly thankful for. He is now living here, close to us, and we are beyond grateful for that gift.
As life settles into a new rhythm, you’ll begin to see us return to doing what we love—creating, sharing, and connecting with all of you. We’ll be focusing more on the Richmond area and, of course, continuing online. And if you ever want to see our work in person, remember that we have a studio inside Art Works where our jewelry is always available.
Thank you for still being here—for your support, patience, and kindness.
This year, gratitude looks like family, love, memory, and new beginnings.
