Bright sunny day in Sunriver today! Sunriverartfair 80+ artists are showing this weekend — great company. If you’re in the area, grab a hat and some sunscreen and come visit. If not, and something grabs you, let me know.

One of the benefits of visiting RiverSea Gallery is detouring to the beach after. The briny funky air is truly soul healing. Needed this reminder that the ocean continues to do its thing even when the world is in chaos. And I have to say, seeing Loki running circles off leash full of joy and freedom was pretty great, too. I was enjoying the moment so much I didn’t have my phone in hand to take a video. Good day.

Good morning from lovely Bellevue. Bellevue Arts Museum has brought together hundreds of artists for a beautiful show. Today & Saturday 10-7, Sunday 11-6. Find me in Booth R23!

Some ideas take a really long time to realize. Play. Edit. Play some more. Mess something up. Put it away. Try again, but differently. Fully commit. Break a stone at the very end. Swear. Grieve. Pivot. Finish. Breathe. Two and a half years later, these stones have found their voice. Dangle earrings with chrysacolla paired with black tourmaline in quartz and a gem silica pendant. I’m happy. The color of the water in Crater Lake. Magic. Packed and ready for Bellevue Arts Museum this weekend, Friday-Sunday, booth R23.

Mocha Oregon fire opal frame pendant.🔥 First of all, it felt SO good to have the day in my studio today. I found the flow state I have been craving. With all the house stuff lately, my creative time has been nonexistent. Now that we’re through some major tasks on the new house in Maupin and a huge task list here in Portland getting the current house on the market, I’m able to reclaim (some of) my time. Kind of important with Bellevue Arts Museum next weekend followed by Sunriverartfair 2 weeks later! It is what it is. Anyway, I love this piece. Colleen, the gem dealer, knew I would do this stone justice. It just feels like me — this shape has been filling my sketchbooks for years. I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw it, floating the stone in an outer frame, like my favorite frogskin agate piece from a few years ago (which is at RiverSea Gallery btw). ‘Night.

It’s been a minute. Hi! Quick update from the past month-ish:
🌕Made a moon out of a sunstone. This is the rough, collected several years ago on a trip Mark and I took to Plush, OR. It was in a jar of hundreds of other Oregon sunstones on my windowsill and just leapt out at me. I’ll share more later, when I’m able to get back in the studio. House stuff is taking priority right now.
🥰Still kind of in awe of my weekend at NW Marine Art Works. Had people ‘reeeally connect’ with my jewelry. Thank you, truly.
💖Bought this dreamy painting from Rachel Lozeau.
♥️Celebrated Lucy’s college graduation. Truly the highlight. I’m so incredibly proud of their creative, resilient, nerdy, foodie soul. They have grown as a leader. They have nurtured strong relationships. And making art every day has deepened their skills and voice. I’m the proudest mama.
🫶🏻Shared my new home with my brother. I love that he noticed the consideration and care we’ve taken in the design, materials and craftsmanship. How it will live. Pretty gratifying.
🪹Sadly, displaced a nest in my studio. The Say’s phoebes really liked the nooks up high. I needed to finish insulating, and it’s still a construction zone. Leaving them undisturbed wasn’t an option. No eggs yet, at least.
💦Took a break from work on the house to get our feet in the river. Even Loki got in, we were shocked.
✨Saw the transformation of the interior of our home from insulation to v***r barrier to drywall. Plaster work began this morning.
Gotta get back to getting the Portland house ready to list (very soon!). Ugh. My list is still too long. Once that’s done I’ll get back to prepping for Bellevue Arts Museum & Sunriverartfair!

Much needed beach trip today while Lucy’s home for the weekend. Got our funky smell/forest walk/shell hunt fix. Loki met the ocean for the first time. Still not a water dog. Every time we visit, the rocks look a bit different. Fresh erosion revealing events from millions of years ago. Fresh Dungeness crab for lunch. Feels really good.

Tiny F***s. Some days it feels like it’s every other word out of my mouth, from the moment I pick up my phone in the morning. Sometimes it’s really the only way to respond. Same? I believe it’s a sign of our humanity. To give a f**k. To be f**king outraged daily. To be so tired and fresh out. I’m here with you. With a little whisper you can wear. And hold onto when you want to scream. Tiny F**K charms are $86.47. (Chains available separately.) I’ll get them on my website tonight, but feel free to DM me to claim one.♥️
