Much needed beach trip today while Lucy’s home for the weekend. Got our funky smell/forest walk/shell hunt fix. Loki met the ocean for the first time. Still not a water dog. Every time we visit, the rocks look a bit different. Fresh erosion revealing events from millions of years ago. Fresh Dungeness crab for lunch. Feels really good.

The Northwest Jewelry & Metal Showcase at Gathering of the Guilds is a show I look forward to every spring. So many incredible local artists and makers under one roof. More than 300 from nine local artist guilds: potters, glass artists, hand weavers, printmakers, woodworkers, sculptors, jewelers. This community is truly special. If you’re a regular attendee, you get it. If you’re thinking about it for the first time, please come. It’s free to get in the door. The art is inspiring. Fair warning, it’s really hard to leave empty handed. I’m so ready to connect with you. I’ll be in booth M14 with (to the right as you come in the door, in the far aisle). See you next weekend!

I’m into what my friend Rachel calls ‘fiddly bits’ on a pair of earrings that have been waiting on my bench for me for a while. Lots of self doubt and ‘will they sell?’ and ‘are they worth it?’ for the materials involved kept me from starting them. F that. They will be killer. And well worth the time they are taking me. If only for drawing me out of my funk. The challenges feel really good to work through. Can’t wait to share!

Just finished the last couple pieces for this grouping of silver essentials. Perfect for any day. I love to mix these with a statement pendant or ring. A luxe chain with bold earrings. A long, fluid earring for my run to the store. (I mean, why not?) Each of these graphic shapes is inspired by movement — a wing, the path of water, hummingbirds. And this Infinity♾️ was totally unexpected. Forging twisting pieces of wire and puzzling them together. DM me with interest. I’ll have them with me December 6&7. One for you, one for me…😘

House update: We’re mostly framed in, ready for a flurry activity over the next several weeks. Roof, windows & doors, rough electrical and plumbing. We can feel how the house sits in and interacts with the landscape. How the spaces are becoming defined. How Mark’s many many sleepless nights working through details (the roof alone!) are paying off. It felt really good to take it in over the weekend. To notice things that’ll be covered up soon that we’ve talked through for months. Aaand we’re nearing the end of our retaining wall project. Whew!🪨 Then on to the next project. I ♥️ Maupin, and am excited to make it home.
