💛 A little more of the Pieces of Us origin story…
Since we’re walking down memory lane, this was another really important moment in the early days of my journey.
A friend I met through a babywearing group, Megan, reached out and asked me a question I hadn’t been asked before:
“Do you make pieces with ashes?”
Every puppy she had lost, she had preserved their memory by making a Pandora charm. When she heard I was starting this little business idea, she wanted to support me — and trusted me to try something new.
To be honest, I was still very early in learning. But Megan gave me an incredible opportunity by letting me practice and experiment with her pieces. Because of her trust, I was able to begin learning how to preserve ashes in jewelry and keepsakes.
Over the last five years I’ve learned so much, and it all started with someone believing in me enough to let me try.
As a thank-you, I made her a few extra stones alongside the charms. It felt like such a small gesture for the gift she had given me — the chance to grow.
Moments like this are why Pieces of Us means so much to me. Every piece has a story behind it, and every person who trusted me along the way helped shape what this business has become today.
💬 I’d love to know — do you have a pet who has left paw prints on your heart?
