Wow, been a long time since I've been able to get to my creative side. Really need to find some time to get back to the creative side once it cools off in AZ. Miss doing the wood working.

Sometimes a simple little project can take on a life of its own. Was going to try to get my work area in the garage cleaned up / organized. 1st "easy" project, after I mounted a separator above the shop vac, I needed some right angle connectors for the hoses - good luck finding those. So I started to make my own. Lesson #1, ABS might be black and match the fittings, but it doesn't heat and stretch - it splits. Back to the big box store for PVC pipe and fittings. Works much better. Lesson #2, if you go slightly too thin on your form, you absolutely can not use tape to get it to the correct thickness, you need to turn a new form. Tape + hot pvc = hot gluey mess that will not separate. Currently waiting for the PVC to cool down - it retains heat for quite a white!

JnE has been in hibernation. Last year was busy with work and home renovations. Taking a break from renovations, but staying busy with work ... and now back to the UDEMY course.

Bought a set of wrenches metric and standard so I would hopefully not have to borrow my neighbors. First project requiring a wrench ... 1/16 larger than the largest in the set.

Good tool day! The nearby shop is called Fastenal, and they had a meter of the threaded rod for $3.58. Discovered you can now get thread lock in stick form - and it was on sale. Also got a couple of 5/8 anchor barbs for the deck posts. Good prices, and wow they have a selection of fasteners and tools.

Sigh, I ordered an ER20 collet chuck holder for the lathe. Then got the shipping details coming out of China - wait several weeks. Finally get the holder, go to get some threaded rod to make a retaining rod for it, and you can't get M10 1.5 threaded rod at Lowe's. Have a nearby place to try tomorrow. If they don't have it, either have to wait 3-6 weeks for an Amazon order, pay 2X the cost of the rod to have it shipped from a local supplier, or drive out to the industrial area to pick some up.

I needed to get the press, and cutters, and containers and ... off my work bench, so I made a dedicated work station. A couple of shelves for containers, a few tool holders along one side - left the other side clear because that is where my knees will be when using the press. This became a scrap project - rails and legs from an old table, shelves from an old IKEA style bookshelf, some boards from a pallet, a water stained piece of plywood that has been sitting around for a really long time, another couple of scraps of plywood, and a few other pieces of wood from the scrap bin. The only new thing on it are some castor wheels. Think it will work out well - very sturdy, and can be tucked away in the garage, or brought inside when AZ warms up.

Working on another portable cart for some jewelry making tools. Attempting to make it out of scrap wood, and using loose tenon joinery to do it. Like how the joinery works, so purchased the router bit to make the tenons. Had just enough clearance to use it on my router for the first couple attempts - then realized I needed to raise it up to cut the full profile which would have hit the aluminum backer fence so ... a few hrs later, I had a taller, thicker, heavier duty fence for the router - just what I needed - next couple of passes made good tenons. Maybe later this week I'll finish the cart!

From my neighbor's bulk trash pile one year. Olive wood is a very nice wood to work with.

The pressure pot project is really turning into a pain. New pressure relief valve is slightly larger thread size than what was installed - non standard size? After some digging, finally found a 1/4 - 18 NPT tap, and re-threaded the hole. Now I can't tighten it in as much as I'd like because I don't have the proper size wrench. Will borrow one from my neighbor tomorrow. Have a full metric/SAE set up to 7/8 on order now - next time It will be a 1" wrench I need!
