Failure has never frightened me.
Perhaps because
I have never known
how to love,
dream,
or live
halfheartedly.
If I am going to try,
I give it everything I have.
I would rather fail
having poured myself fully
into something I believed in
than spend a lifetime
wondering what might have happened
had I dared a little more.
What unsettles me
is something quieter.
It is the thought
of settling into a life
that never asked much of me.
A life built on “good enough,”
where comfort slowly replaces wonder,
and I forget
what it felt like
to be fully alive.
I do not want a life
that merely fits.
I want one
that stretches me,
challenges me,
breaks my heart open,
and leaves me changed.
I want conversations
that linger.
Work that feels
like purpose.
Love that asks me
to be brave.
Moments that make me
forget to look at the time.
I want the kind of life
that sets my soul on fire.
Because when this journey is over,
I hope I can say
I did not simply pass through it.
I wrung every drop
of beauty,
wonder,
joy,
and possibility
from the life
I was given.
If I fail,
I fail.
But I refuse
to live half asleep,
to settle
for less than I was meant to experience,
or mistake mediocrity
for peace.
