Today was yet another banner day at the Happy Valley/Sunnyside Farmers Market! This is the only Farmers Market we do & we are only here twice a month! We’ve increased our supplies each time we come & each time you all are scooping them up!!!
Dude! You would not believe how much work & dedication it takes to do this!
It’s EVERY DAY! It’s ALL DAY! And even into the night.
We wake up EARRRLY! It’s a good thang we have access to REALLY GOOD COFFEE! WE NEED IT! AND SOME DAYS MORE THAN OTHERS!!
We just keep going & then a day like today comes along…
We’re standing on pavement all day talking about coffee but not just any coffee. We’re sharing our TAKOTA COFFEE story. Our passion for what we are doing and why. And it’s the passion & integrity that people can taste in every profile we offer.
It’s the hours of dedication, of creating & offering specialty coffees we can be proud of that one can taste in every sip. It’s seeing familiar faces return to pick up their fav &/or try out a new profile & it’s their smiles & greetings that pull us through.
One of the best things about building this dream is watching how people react to our coffee.
I could tell you story after story of the people we get to meet. About the gentleman who showed up today saying his daughter had bought him some of our coffee & he loved it so he came by to meet us & tell us how good it is & shared with us how she had just given birth to his newest grandchild! We remember her coming over to sample TAKOTA COFFEE & how Jeff talked with her as she went on a journey with ‘the roaster’ from light to dark roast, South American, Indonesia, Africa, Latin & Central America…all beautiful coffees with coffee notes pulled forward to enjoy its fruit.
Yes, Coffee is a fruit! It’s beautiful, mysterious, it can be very complex. Roasting is science. It takes dedication, skill & if you are really good at it, one can develop intuitive ability. Jeff has become, through time, training, much experience & dedication a keenly intuitive roaster.
And it shows.
He’s developed a passion he honestly didn’t expect to grow at the level that has surprised even himself.
I love watching this unfold. I love witnessing his passion. I snapped these pictures today witnessing his passion being shared with others.
Relationships building from customers & families.
We can’t wait to meet the newest member of this gentlemen’s family, his newest grandchild. We all become part of an interwoven connection cheering each other on all in a world connected via coffee.
