Think your red eyes at the pool are caused by chlorine? Think again

Bloodshot eyes after swimming is not as a result of chlorine but in fact caused by urine contained in the pool, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has revealed.

Contaminants in the pool, including urine and sweat, bind to the chlorine in the water creating a chemical compound which in turn causes eyes to sting.
