Anyone else feel like they live in a time warp? This has been heavy on my mind for a few weeks. I’ve been playing around with how I experience time/life, and ya wanna know what I’ve noticed? 📱Time spent on my phone is fast time. The minutes go by soo incredibly quick. And afterwards I sometimes feel upset with how I’ve traded in those minutes of my life. 🏋️♀️ Time spent weight lifting goes slow. But if I get on my phone between sets, my breaks are longer than necessary. Soo my mind thinks weight lifting takes too much time on my busier days, and I skip it. But guess what? I still spent 30 min random scrolling on my phone even though I was “too busy” to workout. Time gone in a blink.🙅♀️ So I stopped getting on my phone in between sets. I focused on what I really wanted to do. Because I’ve never felt bad trading in my minutes to make my body stronger 💪
Then I started looking at how it felt like all I did was work. Well guess what? After I called it quitting time for the day, I usually spent a good amount of time “decompressing” by scrolling. Before I knew it the evening was gone, and I again felt like I traded my minutes for nothing. Now I read a physical book to decompress. And suddenly I find myself out in the garden. Looking at the sky. Dreaming and playing. The hours drag on. Life feels longer, more full. One evening I even felt an old familiar feeling.. boredom. Oh how long has it been since we’ve let ourselves feel boredom rather than reach for the phone? Do you remember the magic that was born out of your most boring moments in childhood? Daydreams and tea parties. Imaginary worlds✨Boredom is open space to create 🦋 yet we feel so comfortable when it embraces us.
Maybe we can slow down the time warp. Maybe it’s how we trade in our minutes. Maybe technology has gotten too deeply ingrained in our human-ness. What do you think?
STUDIO UPDATES: These are some of the Nebula orders that went out today. I have to refire some 😩 cuz the kiln was too cool. And have a lot of gold lustering in my future 🤪 but hopefully the rest go out on Tuesday 🫶 thank you so very much for your patience!
