Tatting is a form of lace-craft that was popular in the Victorian era and experienced a brief revival in the 1950s. It is fairly rare when compared with knitting or crocheting. It is a tradition that has been passed down in my family for over 6 generations. I learned from my grandmother and she learned from her mother and so on...

I am taking the tradition and putting my own modern twist on it by

Finished my first quilt top ever! Learning what to do as I go; the sashing ended up crooked in spots, but I know why, so hopefully I wont have the same issue again.

My quilt is bigger than I meant to make, but that's ok. This should be a nice comfy throw when I'm done.

This crumb quilting is fun stuff! On to the next step. I have to prep my backing fabric and batting so I can pin baste everything and get ready to quilt!

Stress relief sewing: my first ever attempt at making a quilt. I stumbled across crumb quilting on youtube and I'm trying to make a completely random scrappy lap quilt out of all my fabric scraps I collected in 2020, making masks, etc. A learning experience I am enjoying.
