Ishum Designs We make lampwork glass beads and jewelry. Ishum was the Babylonian god of fire and the earliest man-made glass were beads in Mesopotamia, 2500 BCE.

Starting with rods of soft glass (primarily COE 104) and using a small propane/oxygen torch, one-of-a-kind beads are created. These beads are available for your own creations or incorporated into ready-to-wear jewelry available directly from Ishum Designs.

Just back from the Gathering (annual International Society of Glass Beadmakers get together) in Bellevue, WA. Met fellow torch workers from Japan, Australia, Denmark, Canada, UK and, of course, from all over America. Thanks to all of you who shared your knowledge, expertise and time. Lots of ideas and inspiration floating in my head . . . and a lot of new glass, frits and murrini to play with - along with some new tools too. So I'll be producing new creations to share this week! Can't wait to fire up the torch!!
