"The Boat that History Forgot" was inspired by the canals that in many cases have been abandoned, filled in, and repurposed. It is also inspired by the ephemeral, ever-changing landscape driven by commercial and for-profit purposes, that once used up, are often cast aside. Digging deeper, it makes me consider not only how we treat the earth, but relationships with each other, that should be cherished and preserved even in times of change and struggle.

The National Park Service is so essential “to preserve and protect the natural and cultural resources for future generations”. This year the NPS is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and as a travel and nature devotee, I regularly find myself at NPS sites. Whether world-famous or relatively obscure, I always gain tremendous inspiration from the park sites.

Over the past 10 years, I have been creating glass art inspired by National Park sites. In honor of the 100th Anniversary, I created some new, and for me…boundary-pushing creations I am excited to share.
