16 years ago yesterday, these two crazy kids got married. 🤍🥂
At the time, David and his dad had just started a little belt company, and while we were on our honeymoon, we launched the very first Anson Belt website. I still remember David packing his computer for the trip and us waking up our first morning in Vieques, Puerto Rico to check the site. We were nervous, excited, hopeful… and still both working other jobs while dreaming that maybe one day Anson could become something bigger. 💻🌴
Of course, all of our groomsmen wore Anson Belts in the wedding - which is actually when we first realized what an incredible groomsman gift it could be! 🎁👔
A few years after launching the website, David was laid off from his job, which ended up being a blessing in disguise (and yes, he actually filmed parts of it 🎥). That moment quietly shifted everything and pushed us further into building what Anson is today.
Fast forward 16 years, and Anson has grown into a full team - including both David and me. I officially joined full-time when we launched the ladies line in 2020, and it’s been incredible getting to build this together. 💙✨
Frank (Paw Paw) is pretty much retired these days, but still very much part of the heart and story of all of this. And now we’ve got a whole younger generation coming up - our kids and our nephew - who would absolutely love to take this over one day. That thought alone makes it all feel even more meaningful. 🤍
It definitely hasn’t always been easy, but it has absolutely been worth the ride. 🚀
We celebrated in the most “us” way possible - dropping the kids off at school, starting the workday with our team at the distribution center, sneaking away for a lunch date and dessert on the beach because the weather was too beautiful not to 🌊🍰, then finishing the day in Beaufort shooting a new collection before picking up the kids to help us close up the warehouse and head home together.
And we wrapped it all up with sushi and a night in 🍣🏡 and our daughter surprised us with a lil date ✨.
