Hey, BoP family and clientele! We have heard that some of you have been having some trouble finding our door amidst all of the work being done on our sidewalk — so here’s a video that we hope will help more of your find your way to our magical little shop tucked onto 17th street a little bit easier! And now we have a big sign on up while heading down 17th street that we hope will help too.

We definitely have been feeling a hit to our walk-ins lately, and we want to assure you that we are indeed open throughout all of this work. Of course, remember that we have an online store too that you can shop from, and you can always send us an email ([email protected]) if there is something we can help you with. We have also opened up our gofundme again, if you’d like to help us weather this storm, but find yourself not in need of any beads, jewelry, African and East Asian art, or unique treasures from around the world.

Whether you’re looking to engage your creative side or to find an activity to keep your hands busy, beading and jewelry making is an excellent way to do both! Have some broken beaded jewelry in need of repair, or some that you’d like to rework into a more “you” style? Leaning the basic skills of jewelry making will get you on your way to doing so. Thankfully, we still have seats available for our Foundations of Jewelry Making class this April so you can get yourself acquainted with the multitudinously useful skill.

This is no April Fool’s Day joke, they’re really tearing up our sidewalks in an effort to make them even more sturdy. Today they’re jackhammering, which will be temporary, and we expect we may be getting a little bridge to lead you into the shop soon. I choose to think this all makes the shop a little extra magical, because of the little extra effort to get to our door, but once inside, we are still the paradise you know and love. We will keep you updated on the process, and plan on keeping our doors open throughout this entire process. We look forward to seeing you the next time you visit Beads of Paradise NYC.

Happy first day of Spring! I’m still obsessed with the “dress” I whipped up with our famous Felt Lotus Flower scarves from Nepal, and while we don’t have many of these fabulous scarves in shop anymore, we DO have a wonderful array of clothes, textiles and jewelry that’ll be perfect as the temperatures warm and the trees and the flowers bloom. Happy Spring! 🌺🌼🌸🌹🌻💐

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! (Acck!) I’m not in the shop today, so I’ve missed out on a day of exuberant theme dressing. Let’s throwback to when I played with our green jewelry in 2023, and 2021.

We LOVE Alysa Liu’s amazing and well-deserved Olympic win, and the fact that she did it all exactly her way! You’ll feel like you won a gold medal when you come to BoP and have jewelry made for you exactly the way you want it!

Oh hey, we’re getting a blizzard! In light of the storm and its expected impact on our city, our storefront will be closed on Monday February 22, 2026. We hope everyone stays safe and cozy and warm. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

Well, it looks like we’re getting yet another snowstorm, possibly even a blizzard! And if you’re looking for something to do to keep your hands busy while the snow falls outside, beading may be just the thing for you. Your hands stay occupied AND you come out of the snowstorm with something (or somethingS) to wear (or gift)! An excellent deal if you ask me.
