October's birthstones are some of the most colorful gems on the planet—opal and tourmaline. Opal exhibits a phenomenon called play-of-color that causes rainbow flashes of light. This occurs when neatly-stacked silica spheres that make up opal diffract white light entering the gem, separating it into spectral colors.

Tourmaline exists in a rainbow of colors, from red to green to neon blue. It can also exhibit multiple colors in the same gem. One fun color combination, sometimes called watermelon tourmaline, has red or pink in the center, surrounded by green. Tourmaline derives its color from different elements that are incorporated into its crystal structure during growth.

The desert's quiet expanse, where designer Bracha Din has spent much time as a guide and meditation teacher, is the visual backdrop for her Jewels of Light collection. Flaming orange sunsets, purple mountains, and pastel sands have been transposed into wearable art pieces that feature pastels and luscious hues.

One can sense the muse that guides her hands to string together precious and semi-precious stones, luminescent pearls, and empowered black diamonds, distilling their essence and grace into an exquisite whole.

Her collection features lines for baby to bridal, bohemian to corporate, and casual to evening couture; they are timeless yet in and of the moment.

Jewels of Light enchant with subtlety, evoking sparks of splendor that reveal the place where each woman's beauty resides. Bracha's gift of alchemy allows her to capture the light of jewels to serve their higher purpose--illuminating the inner beauty and aura of all women.

Jewelry designer Bracha Din

Bracha’s pieces of jewelry have a unique radiance as they were produced in the Holy Land, imbued with prayer and infused with spirituality. Each creation is a one-of-a-kind, original art piece. From her studio in the Old City of Jerusalem, she draws on 35 years of healing and contemplative practices to send love and light to the entire planet by channeling gems toward their highest purpose. Each piece is additionally charged with both the sunlight and moonlight of the holy air of Jerusalem. People say her pieces are unique, soft, whimsical and healing.

Bracha Din has had many journeys. As a student of biblical archaeology and a desert meditation guide, Bracha honed her deep connection to the essence of stones that are the foundation of her jewelry designs.

Her treks and journeys started many years ago as a young 60's seeker. Her wanderlust transported her to over 22 counties--from the streets of the Lower East Side to the terracotta caves of Crete, from the hot white beaches of Europe to the sands of Sinai. Her travels eventually brought her back to NY, to which she returned to raise 4 children with her husband-a noted teacher of Kabbalah.

But eventually her journey prodded her to her soul's ultimate journey--to the City of Light, Jerusalem.
