Some interesting things afloat in preparation for the Wax Carving Marathon I’ll teaching at the next week. Four days of wax carving for jewelry and objects plus the introduction of a new technique, Drawing on Metal. Downsizing just a bit. This is my very first workbench that I started this work on four decades ago. It’s dear to me but as I have others, I’m choosing to move it on and sell it for a very decent price. It will come with a lamp. If anyone here in the New York community is interested to make it their workbench, please DM me. Total measurements are 31”W x 16”D x 24”H.

Recently finished pair of drop earrings. I had fun with materials and elements when creating these. 18K top portions which extends down through the darkened sterling silver cast pieces of vine from upstate NY. Finished off with two pretty spectacular gray/green Tahitian Pearls.

Some very dear friends of Rob’s and mine were visiting over the weekend from Florida. Many years ago Claudia asked me to design and create two rings she could wear with her wedding band. (The thinner white and pink gold bands.) Sitting and talking Wednesday morning I suddenly felt such gratification at seeing those rings on her hand. One of the highest purposes of jewelry in my mind… to make a statement about love and life’s meaningful events.

Just finished taking an online workshop with given by jewelry artist, Deb Karash. Time demanded some spontaneity when it came to design but I learned a wonderful new skill using the same medium I’ve been using in my other passion this past year and a half, portrait drawing. ( ) Prismacolor pencils. Applying drawing and color to metal? This could be the beginning of a whole new love affair.
