Recently mailed out the last Pattern Club sampler of 2025. Working on details for 2026 & hope to share details soon.

Never named this pattern. I always struggle with the naming part. Was inspired by fanciful bandana motifs & block print imagery. Any name ideas?

I’ve been volunteering with working with a child on their reading skills. It’s been such a blast! My student is super creative & motivated by games & drawing. They requested a punch card to further gamify our sessions & I was more than happy to make this cute card! They requested I do one for myself too 🥲💙

This Giving Tuesday support & give the gift of tutoring for children who need some help. If you’re in the NY area it’s a great way to give back to your community!

Thankful for this experience which has really deepened my appreciation for reading & how much I take it for granted. Thanks !

p.s if you’re interested in the punch card DM me. I’m happy to share! But you gotta let me know how’d you use it. 🎲📚

A peek at the latest sampler that I’ve been making custom thread packs for & stitching behind the scenes. I’m almost ready to mail. 💌

To my subscribers, I’m so sorry this round is late but I’m working hard on it. Always feel like I’m behind as a small creative business. Wish I had more stamina for the physical & business side of things.

Big thanks to for the screen printing 💙

I’ll share a few extra samplers for those who’d like to drop in & stitch up this pattern too ➖➖➖➖

✨Denim Mending Class✨this Saturday! I love wearing & repairing denim. It’s been my entry point into all things mending since my mending pile is always stocked. I hope you’ll join me exploring various approaches to denim repair including:

➕classic patch repairs above & below
➕Sashiko stitching
➕darning (2nd image)
➕curved & circular patches

FYI other materials are also welcome! I use denim here because it is so ubiquitous, but these techniques can be applied to all kinds of materials. We will concentrate on woven fabrics for class.

Got any wovens & denim to repair? What would be most helpful for you to learn? I’m always so curious to hear.

Finally finished fixing up these French work pants I thrifted in Amsterdam . They had such great vintage! Almost a year later I took them to DarnIt! Mend club for the motivation/gentle peer pressure to get it started. All I needed to do was sew a missing button at the waist & patch a large hole with thinning fabric around the knee. Things just take time and there’s a world full of hurt & distraction happening at light speed everyday, so I’m not beating myself up about it. Just sharing in case anyone else might relate & to share its ok to go slow.

I used a sashiko-inspired pattern from my book Make & Mend paired with a lucky denim scrap found in CA. Fun to reimagine these vintage pants by drawing out my own pattern & stitching it up.

✂️ Wanna get to that mending pile or just learn some hand-stitching skills? I just listed a fresh batch of classes & would love to stitch with you. 🔗Hop over to the link in my bio for more info. Here’s the schedule:

➕ August 17 Intro to Sashiko
➕ Sept. 7 Sashiko 2: Creating Patterns from Scratch
➕ Sept. 21 Denim Mending
➕Sept. 28, Oct. 5 & 12 Hand Stitches for Mending (a three part series!)

p.s Darn it! Is hosted by & at Highly recommend! So many kind menders show up. So nice to mend with friends. Next one is Aug. 4.

✨MINI QUILT CLASS✨ next Saturday. Join me for some time to play & experiment with a combo of traditional & unconventional quilting methods.

To get you inspired I share historical pieces & artists using unconventional materials & practices. Use your own stash of scrap materials to create a unique piece.

Love that it’s a very portable project too. This is my WIP from my last class & took it with me in a recent trip for some travel stitching.

Grateful to Amanne & Lina for creating an NYC tatreez stitching circle last month. They shared traditional Palestinian patterns from the project & we each picked a pattern to stitch. We got to share the joy of Palestinian embroidery & celebrate Palestinian culture while stitching in community- one of my favorite things to do. I wanted to be part of this group and project to show solidarity with the Palestinian textile community here & beyond.

Amanne & Lina also have a podcast where you can learn more about tatreez, makers in the diaspora & how intertwined the history of Palestine & Palestinian textiles are. I highly recommend the episodes with Wafa to deep dive into historical garments, history & tatreez embroidery.
